The breakfast nook is just perfect, the cushions, the chairs, the bench, the wire decoration hanging from the ceiling; everything.

I'm glad that recently I was gifted by a family member her own vintage set of Churchill china from her dowry, otherwise I would be squirming with jealousy right now. I have loved them as long as I can remember, I will always cherish them.

The cabinets are filled with lovely glasses, ceramics and trinkets. How lovely it is when every single object you choose to bring inside your home is beautiful.

I think this is my favorite part of the house. The wicker chair and the wire cabinet are both gorgeous and both essential for a country home.

Silje Aune Eriksen

Some of you may have already seen these photos of the home of Silje Aune Eriksen - photographed by Trine Thorsen, styled by Kirsten Visdal for Norwegian Elle Decor - but I just had to have them in my blog archive for future access. If you read this blog regularly you already know that I'm a huge fan of black and white, anything wood, Scandinavian style, Tom Dixon, and the color pink. This home has it all. I love it when a structurally beautiful interior is decorated in a way that is true to its character.

I think that Hotel Praktik Metropol, which I spotted at Remodelista, should branch out to other cities. It's a gorgeous design hotel in Madrid that happens to be quite affordable. The white boarded walls with the addition of pegboards, and that wall mounted lamp that I'm head over heels in love with, are all not only beautiful but also functional.

Bence Remodelista'da gözüme takılan Hotel Praktik Metropol her şehirde şube açmalı. Madrid'de bulunan bu tasarım otelin fiyatları oldukça uygun. Beyaz ahşap kaplama duvarlar Shaker tarzı boydan boya askıların eklenmesi, ve o güzeller güzeli duvara monte lamba ile güzel olmasının yanısıra fonksiyonel de.

The relaxing color scheme is neutral, but the hint of gold peeking under the lamps and the light switch shows why details are important. I thought I was so sick of beige; apparently not when it's done so right.

İnsanı rahatlatan nötr bir renk paleti kullanılmış, ancak lambaların altından ve elektrik düğmesinden belli belirsiz göz kırpan altın rengi detayların ne kadar fark yarattığını gösteriyor. Bej renginin artık ölesiye bıktığımı düşünüyordum, belli ki doğru kullanıldığında hiç de öyle değilmiş.

Dining room styled by ATWTP for Muuto. Good results are unavoidable if every single object you put together is beautifully designed. The cinnamon chair and the ripe apples on the table give this room a mild fall feeling.

Yemek odası dekoru ATWTP tarafından Muuto için hazırlanmış. Bir dekorda kullandığınız her obje ayrı ayrı  güzel tasarımlar ise böyle iyi sonuç almak kaçınılmaz. Tarçın rengi sandalye ve olgun elmalar sonbahar havasını ucundan yakalıyor.

Do you like the cinnamon shade wood wall? I think it looks great with the lighter shade floorboards along with the white and navy chairs. Almost everything in the photo is wood, yet it doesn't look overly woodsy.

Dear readers, I'm desperately into the raw wood thing. I wanna reclaim me some wood. But despite the long hours I keep at the shore waiting for it to "drift" to me, and also despite digging some nearby rubbles, and despite keeping an eye on the neighbours' garbage, I can't find any wood to reclaim. We don't have any old barns nearby with wooden flooring waiting for me to tear off. I am considering buying new lumber and throwing it at our yard and leave it to rot for a couple of years. Would that work?? Is there a way to achieve this look?

Komşunun alıcı gözle süzdüğüm çöpünden de. Etrafta ahşap yer döşemeleri tarafımdan sökülmeyi bekleyen eski ahırlar da yok. Yeni kereste alıp birkaç yıl bahçeye atmayı düşünmekteyim. İşe yarar mı bu? Bu görüntü nasıl elde edilir??

"Necklace and Clothes" by Hung Ming Chien. It is visually stunning, and I could really use something like this for those clothes that are too dirty for the closet but too clean for laundry basket. I think it's the design of the hangers that make this so stylish. Still, I have to admit I'm tempted to string some large wooden beads and totally DIY this.

"Button Stool" by Josef Frank. I think Ikea's new PS collection took some inspiration from Josef Frank, who died in 1967. For example the button stool in the above picture is very similar to this new Ikea PS stool, and this cabinet of his seems to be the inspiration of this Ikea one.

Dear E., thank you for your concern. Thankfully I'm not having health problems. I'm just kicking back after a very stressful month of April. I admire and love all the bloggers who come up with daily posts, but I post either when I come across something that I think is worth archiving, or simply when I feel like it. I believe in quality over quantity. Believe it or not, I don't even check my analytics. This blog serves as my online base. It's a hobby, not a service. Even if no one read it, I still wouldn't give it up. On the other hand, anyone who finds my blog worth visiting makes me happy, any comment you leave totally makes my day. If you like my blog, you can subscribe so you won't have to lose time checking it when there are no updates.

This is the bathroom of the same converted barn in the first picture. I just love what they did with it. This bathroom is perfection. The black wire rack looks so great with the raw wood.
