Orangeri

A black & white home is capable of looking very summery with the injection of the right color. In this case, it's pink grapefruit. It's also amazing what the owners have done with a 24 sq ft glass conservatory with concrete floors. Of course, the beautiful garden helps too. It's called an "orangeri", which apparently means conservatory or orangery in Swedish. How fitting for this particular little orangeri!

Siyah-beyaz bir ev doğru rengin enjekte edilmesiyle nasıl da yazlık bir havaya büründüğünü görüyoruz. Burada sözkonusu renk pembe greyfurt. Ayrıca ev sahiplerinin 2.5 metrekarelik, yerleri şap beton minicik cam bir klübeyi getirdikleri nokta gerçekten etkileyici. Güzel bahçenin de payı var tabii. Bizde sera veya limonluk denen böyle yapıların adı İsveççe'de "orangeri" imiş. Bu isim gördüğünüz bu minik orangeri'ye nasıl da cuk oturuyor!

That basket is gorgeous. My apartment is mostly black-white-gray too so I know from experience how a small piece of rattan completes the look and make it look natural and effortless.

Sepet şahane. Benim evim de çoğunlukla siyah-beyaz-gri olduğu için minik hasır dokunuşların görüntüyü nasıl natürel ve hafif bir hale sokarak tamamladığını birinci elden test edip onayladım.

Pink London

Pembe Londra

I have an uncontrollable urge to go to London, again. Uncontrollable by me, but very controllable by the UK Border Agency. I feel like if they knew how much I loved that country, they would welcome me with open arms :( I hate (the requirement of) visas.

Edit: Maybe not the best time to be in London. I have been following the news and twitter, I hope the good people of London are, and will be, alright.

Yine Londra'ya gitmek için içimde kontrol edilmesi mümkün olmayan bir dürtü var. Benim için kontrol edilemez, ama UK Border Agency pek güzel kontrol ediyor. Şunlara olan sevgimi ve merakımı bilseler kollarını açar, gel bize seni bağrımıza basalım derlerdi.

In Malmö

Malmö'de

This apartment in Malmö, belonging to Nina Persson of The Cardigans, is for sale. Could somebody enlighten me; when homes are sold in Sweden, are the furniture and every nice detail we see in these photos included? I'd lose the taxidermy duck, but other than that I wouldn't change a thing (at least not for a while).

Malmö'deki bu apartman dairesi The Cardigans'tan tanıdığımız Nina Persson'a aitmiş, ancak şu an satılık. Biri beni aydınlatsın; İsveç'te evler hep möbleli mi satılıyor? Şık detaylar da dahil midir? Öyle ise doldurulmuş ördeği gönderir, onun dışında pek birşeyi değiştirmezdim (en azından bir süreliğine).

I'm practically bullying people I know into not matching their chairs with their table. Still, nobody listens to me!  See how good it looks?

Çevremdekilere masa ile sandalyelerini takım almamaları için resmen baskı yapıyorum, ama kimse beni dinlemiyor! Bakın işte nasıl da güzel duruyor halbuki!

 Lying down looking at the ceiling is not a dull activity in this apartment.

The duck goes, the shoes are welcome to stay.

What I like about this study is that it does not have an office feel. Not even a home office feel.

While us mortal folk deliberate whether to paint floors white, they are making painted patterns. Someday I hope to own a coffee machine like that.

The other children's room that I love, despite not being/having a child, is the one you can see above from this loft. I know this photo isn't new, I'm posting it for the sake of archiving.

Çocuk/çocuklu olmamama karşın bayıldığım diğer çocuk odası da bu yukarda gördüğünüz işte. Aslında bu fotoğraf yeni sayılmaz ama arşivlemek adına yayımlıyorum.

I think this is the room of the second lucky child that lives in that loft. Is that a bakelite radio?

Of course I couldn't help but share this pink Smeg that has the power to make a harsh stainless steel kitchen look like raspberry cake. The rest of the loft is nice too, just not my cup of tea. You can check it out here.

The home of Emma Sahlin and Nils Unckel in Stockholm from the July issue of Sköna Hem. Apparently there are more photos in the actual magazine; I can't wait til they are all published online.

Sköna Hem'in Temmuz sayısından Emma Sahlin ve Nils Unckel'e ait apartman dairesi. Derginin aslında daha çok resim varmış, internette de yayımlanmalarını iple çekiyorum.

This is one of the most beautiful children's rooms I have ever come across. Every detail is perfect. The cradle seen above, believe it or not, was bought from Ikea in 1972, and the family used it for all the children they had in several generations! I read somewhere that the Ikea PS Sinka cabinet (seen left) is to be discontinued. I took the news with sorrow as I've always wanted one but the relatively high price stopped me from buying it as I didn't really need it. I might regret this decision in a few years.

Bugüne dek en çok beğendiğim çocuk odalarından biri. Her detayı mükemmel. Fotoğrafta görülen beşik 1972 ylında Ikea'dan alınmış, ve birkaç jenerasyondur ailede doğan her çocukta kullanmışlar! Ayrıca yine üstte, solda görülen Ikea PS Sinka çekmeceli dolap yakında piyasadan kalkacakmış. Bu haberi elemle karşıladım çünkü çok beğendiğim, istediğim, ama pek de ihtiyacım olmadığı için nispeten yüksek olan fiyatını ödemeyi göze alamadığım bir parçaydı. Umarım birkaç seneye bu kararımdan kafamı taşlara vurmam.

Hotel-inspired bedroom looks cozy. It says in the article that the curtains are hiding a wall and giving the illusion of larger windows. The carpeted floors, which I doubt I will ever attempt, looks beautiful here.

Yatak odasını döşerken otel gibi olsun istemişler. Konforlu ve davetkar olmuş. Perdeler duvarı gizleyerek pencerelerin daha büyük olduğu ilüzyonunu yaratıyormuş. Halı kaplı yerler -ben asla böyle birşeye kalkışmayacak olsam dahi- hoş görünüyor.
