Alexander Wang

Alexander Wang
{}
Everyone who knows me knows I have a soft spot for androgenous far-eastern boys. I have an even softer spot for simple but striking clothes with a fetish edge. So you see, Alexander Wang is appealing to me on so many levels! I have been stalking The Selby hourly since he put up the "Coming up soon: Alexander Wang" sign, he finally posted it!
{}
Fotoğrafçı Todd Selby, blog'u The Selby'de "Çok yakında: Alexander Wang" yazdığından beri saat başı açıp açıp bakıyordum. Nihayet karşımızda, Alexander Wang'in ofisi!
{}
Yo, Wang,
{}

Please pick me as your muse. I asked Marc a couple of years back, he said no, and look at him now, he totally lost his mojo, and it might have something to do with his karma catching up with him because of the incredible amount of hopeless longing he has caused me. I will work for only being allowed to wear these shoes around the office. Think of me as your oompa-loompa.
{}
Hey Wang, baksana... Beni ilham perin yapsana... Birkaç yıl önce Marc Jacobs'a sordum, istemedi beni, bak şimdi kaybetti o cinliğini, ki buna kıyafetlerinin bende yarattığı ümitsizce arzulamanın kötü karma olarak kendisine dönmesi sebep olmuş olabilir. Şu aşağıdaki ayakkabıları ofiste giyme karşılığı çalışırım seninle.
{}

Oooh...the shoes. They made me break my strict no-fashion-pictures-on-this-blog rule.
{}
Aaahh şu ayakkabılar. Bana çok katı bu-blog'a-moda-fotoğrafı-koymak-yok kuralımı bozdurdu.
{}

As for the place. First of all, I really like the space. The high ceilings, tall windows, plaster walls along with the dark floors are strikingly beautiful. The pillars are stunning. These features contrast very well with cleverly implemented industrial style light fixtures, and create the airy and unfinished feeling of a photography studio. Please note that he only broke the monochromatic color scheme with gold or brass elements. The gold/brass help create depth by becoming focal points, and add a little luxury, still within the general "contrast" look of the place.

Mekana gelirsek.
{}

Love the details on the pillars, and the ceiling. Again, great contrast with the exposed pipes.
{}
{}

Wang himself sitting on a gorgeous marble table. The luxurious marble is on the same "team" as the gold furniture, just like the industrial light fixtures are on the same team as the exposed pipes. This means that if you were to go for a similar look at your place, you could keep adding needed elements to each team, without creating clutter and compromising the airy feeling of course.

My taste in fashion and decor is very different. In decor I like romantic, feminine, soft styles, but in fashion I like simple things made with luxurious fabrics, things that have a dark edge, and a whole different color scheme than I would prefer in my home. Alexander Wang's office may not be the place I love the most, but it definitely holds elements that appeal to the both ends of my taste.
{}
{}

Not too crazy about the table (I would prefer a raw, rustic wood workbench style table) or the cabinets, but I do like the hanging and standing lamps.

{}

{}
I'm completely in love with the pillars! And how the simple black frame looks next to it! Also, I have been eyeing bar carts since this post on {this is glamorous}. Looks like Wang has scored a nice one.
{}
Sütunlardaki doku detayları gerçekten büyüleyici. O dümdüz siyah çerçeve nasıl da yakışmış yanına! Bu arada, "bar cart" denen, genelde üzerine içki şişeleri ve bardaklar konan bu servis arabaları {this is glamorous}'ın bu yazısından beri dikkatimi çekiyor. Wang de güzel bir tane bulmuş kendine.
{}

{}
Ah, the windows make me grind my teeth. There are no apartments in Turkey with such large windows. Not any I can afford, anyway.
{}
Şu pencerelerin kocamanlığı bana dişlerimi gıcırdattırıyor. Bizim memleketimizde niye böyle cömertçe ışığı davet eden pencereler yapmazlar? Nişantaşından başka yerlerde yani.

Alexander wang is quite cute, but I can't say that i've ever had a thing for far eastern boys, maybe the opportunity never presented itself? His work space is amazing, I wish i had the money to have my own studio.

Great post

I LOVEEEEEEEE his space. There was a interior design insert in Vogue Korea last January that had the workspaces of various artists around the world. They did Phillip Lim's, which wasn't as exciting as I thought it would be. I'll try and dig it up and put up some scans. I think you'll like it.

Oh, Wang's studio/office is totally chic. This wouldn't be the way that I would think to design my office but I know I would love it anyway.

OMG it's like your reading my mind!
I was doing a pre-pack last night and I was agonizing if I should bring my hoodie or not. I've got this sort of sweater coat i'm going to bring, I hope that will do me for a cold day plus scarves and a beret hat. Maybe I will pack my hoodie afteralll...tough decisions eh? hahahha
