Chirp, Chirp!

Cik, Cik!

My sleeping cycle was a bit messed up lately, but I'm working on sleeping in normal hours again. It took me a week to liberate myself from my vampire habits but I have finally achieved it. I never thought I'd be so ecstatic about going to sleep at night and waking up in the morning! The biggest benefit of waking up early in spring is opening my windows and listening to birds' chirping in the fresh & cool morning breeze.

I feel like a cartoon character with all these pretty little birds making me want to sing songs of joy. In the picture above, notice that there is no mat in the artwork with white frames. The frames work as a mat on the wall that is only a few shades darker than them.

I'm loving the bright orange bird contrasting with the grey/neutral elements. The subtle mustard stripes on the rug do a great job giving this decor a citrusy freshness.

Sky blue.. Blue skies.. Painting time is approaching, and I'm tempted. Can I paint some cotton clouds too? Maybe I should move to the great outdoors.

Photograph by Diana S. Brennan. Diana Brennan does have a shop full of beautiful photography at Etsy, and the one above is available here. Although this picture is beautiful, I am a bit bummed by the fact that this pretty little bird is actually stuffed.

This photograph of a nest however was taken in the nature. What a cozy home for a loving chirping couple! The pink ribbon was woven there by the bird who made this nest, how sweet is that? Photo by Diana S. Brennan, available here. Diana Brennan was mentioned on decor8, and do check out the post here because you can get 10% discount at her store if you mention decor8 during checkout.

The sweetest shades green, blue and pink, with the cutest little birds on them. My love of tea sets is out of control. Sip some earl grey tea from these toy-like teacups.

This is such a cool thing by wildlife biologist Les Beletsky. It has life-like illustrations of 250 North American birds, and their songs. It isn't just beautiful to look at, but it's also a great source for identifying birds you see while taking hikes. Available here.

I don't really like birds much but all these prints are so kitch and quirky I would use them!

I also have a very soft spot for beautiful tea cups. They are so lovely, I could just buy tons. Loving the bird tea cups in those pastell colours!

i wish it was spring on my side of the world. Luckily, instead of autumn weather we've had spring like weather. I love the pictures of all the birds. The tea cups are so cute as are the pictures hanging from those clips. So lovely!

Felicity - that's not going to happen anytime soon :) hopefully, lol. Glad you like the header, I might change it again for something more springy though :)

afficionada - Thank you for your nice comment. The name actually comes from the "mad tea party" in "Alice in Wonderland", and my nickname 'alis' is pronounced as 'alice' in turkish.

jen - great idea, so I just checked, couldn't find anything to my liking though.

coco- you're right they're a bit kisch but why don't you like birds, they're cute and tiny:) I don't like parrots though, they tease my dog, lol.

Siljesfashion- I don't know what's with me and teacups, I don't even drink from them because tea gets cold too quick, but to me they represent childhood, fairy tales, princesses; those kind of naive things.

style.street- I bet it's beautiful there regardless of what season it is(I have a major crush on australia). You had your turn, now spring is ours :)
