This site has been shut down by court order.

*Madde 12-

*Madde 19-
Herkesin düşünce ve anlatım özgürlüğüne hakkı vardır. Bu hak düşüncelerinden dolayı rahatsız edilmemek, ülke sınırları söz konusu olmaksızın, bilgi ve düşünceleri her yoldan araştırmak, elde etmek ve yaymak hakkını gerekli kılar.
TC Anayasa’sı 90. madde:
Yürürlüğe konulmuş temel hak ve özgürlüklere ilişkin milletlerarası andlaşmalarla kanunların aynı konuda farklı hükümler içermesi nedeniyle çıkabilecek uyuşmazlıklarda milletlerarası andlaşma hükümleri esas alınır.

English translation:
This site has been shut down by court order and I am not kidding. My blog, along with every other blog on blogger.com has been shut down in Turkey, by court order. Bloggers faced a bitter surprise on last Friday when they tried to access their blogs. This is not the first shutdown in Turkey, Youtube has been shut down for almost a year(still is), before that it was Wordpress, and many others. The unreasonable reason behind this is the content of a single blog. The people who have reached this verdict are so incapable that they do not understand you can shut down only 1 blog, although even doing that is something against freedom of speech. I haven't really talked about the forbiddance of Youtube, because I was ashamed to admit such things take place in my country. Now bloggers have been silenced, and I am even more ashamed, but I will not stay silent. I am sick of this bullshit, I am sick of complete idiots making choices over my life, I am sick of these people violating my rights as a human being. What do you do when a judge has bad judgement, and the law is against the law? In this post I am calling out to my fellow Turkish bloggers to support the petitions against this ridiculous verdict.

oh..no ! I do so hope your petitions will help. I don't see how a design blog can be subversive and even then, freedom of speech is something to stand for...
Stay strong, dear Alis..
Sending you warm wishes and support from Spain

ALIS - NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Did you have to go to court - whey was it shut down?

I'm going to email you.

Silje and Felicity- A couple of blogs broke the law by violating copyrights of a TV company. It's lawful that they are shut down. But the wrong application of the law here is that they didn't shut down just those blogs, they banned access to the whole Blogger, and EVERY sub-domain in it, including mine. I don't have to go to court, as it isn't something personally against me. I have only recieved collateral damage here. Now that the DA has objected to the verdict the whole issue may be resolved soon. If not, than many of us bloggers are willing to participate in a counter-lawsuit.

Thanks for your support:) And Felicity it's so nice to hear from you:)

The Turkish government won't even admit to the slaughtering of 1.5 million Armenians in 1915, do you honestly think they could careless about shutting down the blogs ?

alis said...

Yes, anonymous, actually they do care. The ban was lifted yesterday. This is not a political blog so I would appreciate if you would express the spiteful opinions elsewhere.

Also I have to add, the political actions of governments doesn't always express the views of the individuals. I believe I am a resident of the world, I don't believe in nationalism, I believe we are all sisters/brothers. I believe that whatever happened in 1915 was unfortunate for both parties, and holding on to it is getting in the way of love & peace. My best friend in the world is Armenian and I love her like a sister, so it is a sad topic for me as well as her and people will have different views over it no matter what, and discussing it here on a blog that is pretty much made to escape the sad stuff isn't going to get us anywhere..

Love,
alis
